Keren
Keren’s early farming experience at Singing Frogs Farm in California helped cement her love for production agriculture. After this experience she went on to set up and manage the market gardens at Mossy Willow Farm, successfully growing the business and training a number young farmers who went on to start their own ventures.
Keren further broadened her agricultural experience by graduating from the RCS Grazing and Farming for Profit program and working at pasture raised egg business Yolky Dolky Eggs.
In 2022 Keren co-founded Five Tales Farm and is the current farm manager. She handles everything from the nursery and planting schedules to marketing and managing the team. Her hands-on approach in the field and un-matched work ethic make her the central player of the team.
Mikey
Mikey fell in love with farming when he realised its potential to inspire and bring people together. His passion led him to farm at the Brooklyn Grange NYC, Hava Ve Adam in Israel, and Singing Frogs Farm in California. In 2017, Mikey and Keren co-founded the market garden’s at Mossy Willow farm and supplied quality vegetables and flowers to various farmers markets, grocery stores and restaurants.
In 2021, Mikey received an Australian Nuffield scholarship to study the means of improving profitability for small scale farms. In the same year he joined the No-till Market Garden Podcast as host for their southern hemisphere season exploring the Australian farming scene.
In 2022, Mikey co-founded Five Tales Farm. In his current role, Mikey primarily focuses on crop production and yields, soil health and building sales partnerships.
Jay
This man has done just about everything: a baker, fruit and flower picker, concreter, gelato maker, pizza chef, and vegetable grower. You could just about say he’s a Jay of all Trades. Picking fruit throughout Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, Jay eventually found himself working on Blokker flower and bulb farm in Tassie where he fully fell in love with farming.
Jay worked alongside Mikey and Keren at Mossy Willow farm where they all became best mates.
Jay then went on to co-found with his partner Kim, Into the Roots.
Kim and Jay grow organic vegetables, flowers, and grass-fed beef on their South Gippsland farm.
Jay joined the Five Tales team in 2024 and the old team was finally reunited. He has brought with him a magnetic energy, passion for hard work, and a team spirit which is hard to match. Jay is in charge of our harvest and field preparation.
